At First Lutheran we expect and welcome children in worship and strive to make this a worshipful experience for children and parents in several ways.

Found in our pew racks, The Spark Story Bible brings God’s word to life through colorful art and rich retellings of 150 of the most popular Bible stories. When possible, the page number for the day’s Gospel will be listed in the bulletin.

With their loose change in hand, KIDZ of all ages are invited forward during the regular offering time to give to their monthly service project in a “noisy way”.

Offering a twist on the day’s message that the KIDZ (and even the adults) can understand.  Not held every weekend but at most.

Because we know that sometimes something is needed to help keep the kids engaged during worship and allow the parents to get something out of the service.  Located at the main entrance into the sanctuary.  Options include coloring pages, writing utensils and colors, clip boards, small toys and books.  There’s even a spot to leave their “works in progress” to come back to week after week.

Children share special music at the 11:00 service several times throughout the Sunday school year (usually on the fourth Sunday each month) and are asked to lead aspects of the worship service at the conclusion of their 2-week Together in Faith classes.  KIDZ and families are also invited to assist with worship as ushers, greeters, readers, musicians and in other ways as well.

Other options are available for parents who need an alternative place for their little ones during worship. An audio feed of the service is available in both locations.

During the Sunday school year (September-April), our loving volunteers are available to care for little ones (3 years and under) during the Education Hour (9:45-10:45) and the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday morning and from 6:15-8:00 on Wednesday nights.

Available for parents who wish to remain with their children or need some privacy to nurse.  This room is located directly across for the nursery.
